According to reports from Urdu daily Jassarat, an American tank was destroyed by the Taliban when it was hit by a remote controlled bomb in Sha Walikot in the Kandahar district. In Uruzgan province, an Afghan army convoy was attacked and 8 soldiers were killed and 10 injured.

According to details, the Taliban attacks continue across southern Afganistan. Taliban spokesman Abdul Latif Hakimi told reporters that the American tank was ripped apart by remote controlled bomb in Kandahar district last night and all 5 in the vehicle were killed. The Afghan army convoy was attacked near Uruzgan headquarters killing 8 and injuring 10. Afghan sources say that several vehicles were destroyed in the attack.

According to the Taliban, the intelligence chief of district Atanmar in Zabul province was kidnapped along with his 5 guards and presented to Taliban Shariah court which sentenced him to death. The sentenced was immediately carried out and he was shot to death. The other five will appear in front of court at a later date.

Taliban Deny American, Pakistani Claim

According to reports from urdu daily Millet, Taliban spokesman Abdul Latif Hakimi speaking from unknown location has denied the claims of American and Pakistani army that 24 Taliban were killed in an incident near Pakistani border. He said only 7 Taliban have been martyred in Badhal district in a clash with American soldiers, an area is near the Pak-Afghan border. He said the Taliban were attacked when they were returning to their base, commenting that “earlier we attacked an American base in which several American soldiers were killed”. He again said that no Taliban soldier was in Pakistani territory at that time and this claim that 24 Taliban were killed in completely false and baseless.
