Thousands of people in China are facing drinking water shortage due to a severe drought, authorities said Tuesday. The Anhui and Hubei provinces have seen very little rainfall. The northern part of Anhui saw only 26 mm of rainfall since May 1, reports Xinhua. More than 30 counties in Hubei have been affected, causing economic losses of 350 million yuan ($55 million).
