The latest news from Sweden is the tension among Ugandans as a replica of London convention takes place reportedly on October 3rd in Stockholm. It is to be attended by VP Ssekandi and other senior officials of Uganda government. But this past Thursday in the city of Enkoping a group of Ugandans exchanged blows over this issue.
The 6 Ugandans who were involved had been invinted at a home of a Swedish church official at his home for dinner. But trouble developed when one of the Ugandan guests stood up and extended invitation to the Swedes at the dinner to attend 3rd October which is to celebrate 50-years of independence. Before he could finish his speech he was attacked for being an agent of Museveni and a non-Ugandan who had nothing to do with Ugandan affairs. The two who were pro NRM were overpowered by the anti NRM who referred to them as Banyamulenge. This is when blows began and Swedes threatened to call the police if they did not stop immediately. The Swede has sworn never to invite Ugandans again.
Another scare is the poison scare which is circulating among Ugandans of a group known as M7. At first the group appeared to be anti-M7 but suspision agaist them came up when their endless costly parties through Sweden were recognised and carefully followed. Two ugandan who attended some of these parties are still bedridden after 3 weeks of medical care.
Normally in Sweden unlike in London very few Ugandans today attend Ugandan functions, especially when the organisers are not widely known to them.
