Subject: Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) settlement
Hawai'i
members:
Please try to get down to the hearing at the State Capitol on
Saturday regarding the proposed OHA settlement ($200 million in land and cash) -
this deal has been fast-tracked and this will be the last hearing. This is
turning into something like a global settlement - apparently the Hawai'i
Attorney-general is telling the leg to approve this deal so that Hawaiians can
never ask or sue for anything again regarding payments on ceded lands (Hawaiian
Kingdom land illegally transferred to the Fed and the State). The hearing is at
9 am Saturday in the Capitol conference room downstairs. If you have any
questions, contact Ikaika Hussey
