ENVIRONMENTAL OBESITY The powerful influences of obesogenic environments such as physical, social and economic influences favour obesity trends in the 21st century compounding this health hazard over the course of the past 20–30 years. The long term benefits of changing this critical health crisis through education and socio–economic reconditions making all generation aware of this health risk factor associated with life style choices and environmental awareness. Environmental obesity is a new phenomena that is now occurring and more visible in this generation. call obesity a new mutative disease procession that has begun to take effect on humans worldwide caused by a combination of environmental changes that have taken place in our food chain and mass production harvesting practices feeding the world at a faster pace. Earth naturally produces clean air, food and water for every living organism living on this planet, I believe anything altered by human recondition or artificial induction in order to mass produce is actually affecting and altering our DNA. My main objective is to review and analyze the future of obesity and hidden X-factors that will affect our entire health system, our environment and well being. We are all now facing an obesity epidemic that is worse that smoking, drinking alcohol, or any other form of drug abuse causing heart disease and death. Obesity is perceived in the western world as a symbol of wealth and fertility in many parts of the world that live in poverty and starvation, the obesity crisis we now face is the actual opposite of under nourished 3d world countries struggling to stay alive. Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it might have an adverse effect on physical and mental health. Our entire Medicare system will be affected and medical costs will increase in the very near future. Obesity is mostly caused by a combination of excessive dietary calories, lack of physical activity and genetic susceptibility although some cases are primarily caused by genes, endocine disorders, medications or psychiatric illness. Evidence shows some people eat a little yet they still gain weight due to a slow metabolism, on average obese people have a greater energy expenditure than their thinner counterparts. More energy is required to maintain a heavier body mass, this is comparable with a body builder eating more protein to add muscle. Obesity is a leading preventable cause of death worldwide with increasing prevalence in adults and children. Government and medical authorities view this as one of the most serious public health problems facing the 21st century. Twenty–five years ago, obesity was not an issue in North America and other rich nations, the rate of obesity has increased 30% within the last 30 years, this threatens our socio–economic and medical fabric further increasing taxes and medical costs. Obesity threatens our youth and adults with the ever increasing risk of heart disease, respiratory problems and mental illness. Treating obesity is now costing North Americans 100 million dollars a day and this number will dramatically increase in the very near future. The most simple, surface solution to this crisis would be to eat less and exercise more, main factors causing this problem are a combination of excessive food intake, the types of food we eat and finally the amount of toxicity in the body, also including stress, anxiety and psychological relationships associated with eating habits and personal lifestyle. The problem now is the average north American is 300 to 400 calories per day more than they did 20 years ago. It takes approximately 3200 extra calories to produce a pound of fat and conversely you have to use up about 3200 calories more than you take in to burn up a pound of fat. Simply by cutting back 300 to 400 calories a day should result in a pound of fat loss per week. The ultimate success to weight loss is to simply make the right decisions and take action to empower yourself with the knowledge necessary to defeat the psychological and physical addiction. 50 pounds of extra fat reduces the male sex drive because fat causes extra estrogen in men, this is surely a libido killer. Like many CO2 polluting factors and external environmental impacts affecting our health there are also self induced hazards that may cause humans ill health, obesity is one of these health risk factors that involve self induced fat or toxin intake used by most of us on a daily basis. In this global race to obese behaviour affecting our health the next hazardous and mutative side effect interacting with our natural and biological systems are, air–water pollutants, toxic pharmaceutical products, trans fats, sugar products, caffeine, hormone induced meats and artificial chemicals used in mostly packaged food products. All of these factors combined bring us this new phenomenon known as obesity, most hamburger fast food chains like McDonald’s, use Soya based oil products because they are cheaper than regular oil fats. Most of these Soya fats are also in milk products like milkshakes. Soya oil is a worldwide commodity that involves a billion dollar industry, this silent killer refrains from exposing the hazards that are involved using this Soya based component. New studies are now showing that giving your baby Soya milk is comparable to giving your baby three birth control pills, the key to living healthy is knowledge caution, and prevention. -------------------- Editorial: By Nicolas Hermes Source: Facebook’s ‘Preserve our Global Rain Forests’ BACK to margotbworldnews.com |
