"IT’S A LIE": MUST READ--FIRST ARTICLE ON 9/11 BY MIKE RUPPERT, 2001 My comment: Because it was one of the first comprehensive articles on 9/11, it addresses some issues that others did not at the time. Later, Ruppert connected the dots from 9/11 to Peak Oil, and if you haven’t read "Crossing The Rubicon", you’ve missed the definitive encyclopedia on 9/11. The book may be ordered at the Truth To Power website.

MR. Z–MAN, HOWARD ZINN, SAYS U.S. NEEDS A REVOLUTION
"This is an empire which is on the one hand the most powerful empire that ever existed; on the other hand an empire that is crumbling – an empire that has no future … because the rest of the world is alienated and simply because this empire is top–heavy with military commitments, with bases around the world, with the exhaustion of its own resources at home."
THE VOICE OF WAR AND OIL
"Escalation over the question of controlling Caspian basin oil was sparked by America’s orchestrated aggression of Georgia toward South Ossetia. The swift and decisive response by Russia – the complete rout of American backed and trained Georgian fighters has our Neocon war party at the top of Washington’s food chain in a lather. Corp–Media is of course portraying the aggressor, America’s little cats-paw Georgia, as the victim, with Russia the villain – classic example of their lack of truth in reporting."

THE BOOK ON THE WAR AGAINST IRAQ
by Husayn Al–Kurdi
The history of the US war against Iraq has been written. It is titled ‘The Mother of All Battles" and is written by the redoubtable Jeff Archer, also known as cyberblogger Malcom Lagauche. Many English–language volumes have been produced purporting to be an account of US–led depredations against Iraq. None has taken the side of the Iraqi people and their government. None have accurately reported the extent of Iraqi suffering and the ways and means devised to bring about …
‘This era, however, could be called ‘the era of debt–based paper money and credit’ for debt–based paper money and credit was the foundation of Queen Victoria’s British Empire, an empire now in its final stages of dissolution and collapse.
Just as the magnitude of this great wave is unprecedented, so, too, will be the severity of its collapse; and, although such changes happen with varying regularity, this time, we – all of us now here – will witness and experience this event together’.
‘Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending out on a task that is from God’, she exhorted the congregants. ‘That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan’.
A society that bases itself on force and brutality, on state terrorism, while simultaneously indulging in the most hypocritical lip–service to the ideals of humaneness and justice, cannot but find excuses for torture.
‘With global warming, the stakes are more distant, or at least are not yet directly affecting our wallets. But here we are, faced with transformations that will undoubtedly be difficult to live though, but thrilling to dissect. A unique opportunity, deep down, for opening the black box of social life. What behaviors are we going to develop? What decisions forced by emergency? By the government? By our wallet? Who will win? Who will lose? What will the secondary effects be’?
Was the Sarah Palin pick a brilliant strategic move for McCain, or what? Here’s a woman who looks like a Democrat, but votes like a Republican. Did you know she’s pro–drilling and anti polar bear? Get this: She also believes global warming isn’t caused by man! You gotta be living on Mars not to understand Earth’s global warming is caused by burning fossil fuels. But Palin is from Alaska, not Mars.
Thinking about the massive failure of the US media to report truthfully is sobering. The United States, bristling with nuclear weapons and pursuing a policy of world hegemony, has a population that is kept in the dark– –indeed brainwashed– –about the most important and most dangerous events of our time.
Romantic nationalism takes as its starting point the ‘white man’s burden’ and America’s unique world–historical mission to ‘bring’ democracy to the benighted peoples of the wold.
Whenever I say that America has become an empire, someone is sure to say I’m being ridiculous.
But what do you call a government that has tried (usually successfully) to force ‘regime changes’ in Panama, Grenada, South Vietnam, Cuba, Guatemala, Chile, Rhodesia, South Africa, Iraq [in 1963], the Philippines, Serbia, Afghanistan [twice], Iran and several other countries that don’t immediately come to mind?
‘Those intent on spreading the truth about our oil predicament will need to study Harold Hill’s techniques which are widely used by the likes of Daniel Yergin [http://home.entouch.net/dmd/cera.htm] and other oil optimists. With brain chemistry working against you, it won’t be easy to figure out how to counter them’.
‘But in a time of rapidly diminishing resources, environmental devastation, peak oil, food riots and seemingly perpetual war, is it not pertinent to ask if the institutions which control our lives should be run by those whose operating principles can be identified as psychopathic? Can the boundaries of the corporation’s moral universe ever be redrawn so that human and environmental cost is calculated alongside profit margins’?
‘There has been a big K Street lobbying effort. According to a recent book, $156 million was spent just to get this one bill through. That’s campaign contributions, that’s favors, that’s support for a lot of different politicians. These people are extremely corrupt. The point person on the credit card issue was Bob Ney from Ohio, who was forced to resign because of his tie–ins with corrupt lobbying. These guys have their fingers in the till deeply.
‘As Heinberg writes in his book _The Oil Depletion Protocol_, as
oil production declines prices will almost certainly rise, although
probably in unpredictable increments. Prices will become more
volatile’. It is worth noting that ‘volatility’ doesn’t
mean – a
perfectly consistent, extended rise in price – it means rapid
fluctuations. And, in fact, that’s what we’re seeing – oil
rose
dramatically this spring and early summer, and has now declined
again. A number of people are wondering whether our summer spike was
an indication of anything at all. By the time oil dropped back into
the low 120s, there was news that SUV sales were going up again. Now
the voices are coming out of the woodwork, saying it was never peak
oil after all’.
My comment: This is very worth following because what Fitts has
demonstrated during the past decade is that the current housing
bubble burst has been engineered over time essentially since the
savings and loan debacle of the 80s. This series reveals who the key
players were and are.

The Great Moral West does not commit war crimes. War crimes are charges fobbed off on people

This story reveals the human suffering inflicted on people who
already have nothing by the West’s demand for cheap and abundant oil
in order to continue its way of life.

this
administration, headed by the Vice President, which has, it seems,
saved its last rounds of ammunition for a strike against Iran. The
question, of course, is: Are they still capable of creating ‘their
own reality’ and imposing it, however briefly, on the planet? Every
tick upward in the price of oil says no. Every day that passes makes
an attack on Iran harder to pull off"…

U.S. President George W. Bush recently stated that he would be remembered for
liberating 50 million people from the clutches of barbaric regimes. Bush represents a lineage of
liars whose expert propaganda turns truth on its hinder for the sake of promoting the power
interests which they serve. It is time that these lies be exposed and translated for the people
of the US who do not seem to understand what is being said. We hereby present this guide to
understanding a few of the propaganda slogans and terms used by US politicians, puppets, pundits,
and propagandists. "Barbarians" are by definition people who destroy others with utter
ruthlessness, mutilating, murdering and enslaving them. This, of course, describes the barbaric,
brutal and savage regimes of the US, Britain, the Jewish settler state and Europe grabbing for
control of the world…
‘While Barach Obama has run for the presidency on the premise of
change, his ideology is fundamentally the same as the presidents who
came before him: the economic theories of Milton Friedman and the
belief in corporate deregulation; profits before people. Obamas
economic advisers subscribe to the same economic theorem that brought
us the trickle down economics of Ronald Reagan and his disastrous
foreign policy. Obama’s foreign policy advisers subscribe to the same
philosophy that brought us the invasion of Iraq and the Israeli
occupation of Palestine; every one of them a war–mongering
imperialist with close ties to the military industrial complex with
its nexus of profiteering. His energy policy team has great faith in
clean coal and safe nuclear energy, neither of which exists’.
My comment: I keep coming back to the definition of insanity– –doing
the same thing over and over again that has proven without exception
not to work, yet expecting a different result the next time.
Do you recall how outraged U.S. officials appeared to be when people were comparing the Pentagon’s prison camp at Guantanamo Bay to the Soviet communist gulags? Well, the outrage might have been a bit fake and false.
Guess what U.S. military officials have been using as a guideline for interrogations at Guantanamo Bay. According to a front–page article in today–s New York Times, they have been knowingly and intentionally using torture techniques employed by the Chinese communists on American soldiers during the Korean War on detainees at Guantanamo Bay.
The legitimization of the use of torture, both at home and abroad, has been one of the lowest hallmarks of Bush’s true "legacy".
The fact that the US now tortures puts it on a moral par with countries Uzbekistan.
And if you’re traveling abroad, and feel the need to start spouting off about the American values of freedom, democracy, human rights, and human dignity, please just shut the hell up until the urge passes.
Dedicated to those who continually raise the bugaboo of the Communist menace to the make–believe, hypocritical, lying and socially perfidious "American way of life".

In l986 a young Israeli man, called Mordechai Vanunu, followed his conscious and told the World
that Israel had a nuclear weapons' programme. He was convicted of espionage and treason and given
an 18 years sentence. After serving this (12 of which were in solitary confinement) Mordechai
Vanunu was released. In April 2004 about 80 people from around the world went to welcome him out of
prison. Unbelievably, upon his release Mordechai was served with severe restrictions, which forbade
him many basic civil liberties including his right to leave Israel, to speak to foreigners and

In recent weeks there have been several contradictory signals regarding Iran’s nuclear issue
with the UN. On the one hand, there was a new package of incentives for Iran by the Iran–6
group of nations composed of Britain, France,Germany, Russia, China and the United States. On the
other hand there have been fresh threats of sanctions by Bush and Brown, followed by some serious
sabre rattling from Israel. So what ‘facts’ can we decipher from the
situation?
‘Particularly in the US, the word ‘no’ is making itself felt amongst
the formerly middle class. Through a combination of the housing
bubble burst and rising oil prices these are the folks where the word
no was a minor inconvenience, which rarely popped up. Yes, you can
have a mortgage with no money down. Yes, you can afford that new
truck. Have that trip to the Bahamas because guess what – you’re worth
it! Yes – yes, you can. Everything is growing. Everything is good – You
can’t lose! Well, it would seem like we can, and as $150 a barrel oil
looms in the short term, the ‘no’ word is on its way back. How will
the public take it? What will they do’?
My comment: A culture of two year–olds that absolutely will not
accept limits will either grow up and evolve or it will die. It’s
really that simple; it’s really that black and white.
