War vs Spirituality ~ The 'Just War' Doctrine

One thing that I never understood, one thing that bothered me all of my life, is how in 'serving Christ in Love', you can also 'kill your fellow man without mercy'...

Well, here it is, folks, for those of you who were curious about the subject, and
my apologies to those who know this stuff already, but I just can’t help myself when
I see a priest giving a blessing (no caps) to a man in an army uniform, in a war zone

‘Saint Augustine’ (AD 354–430) developed a very practical solution to the growing problem of war
vs. Spirituality, because problems were arising and serious flaws were developing due to the Ten
Commandments and what they contain, notably the fifth Commandment from God (catholic and
lutheran denominations):

'You shall not murder’.priest

They had a real problem with this one because they realized very quickly that to ‘conquer the world’,
you have to kill people, and we’re going to have to ‘make something up’ to make people believe that
indeed, it is OK to kill, and then go to church and praise your almighty God!  The reasoning was that
you could go to war and rape, pillage, and destroy your fellow man – because it was ‘for God and
Country’, (today we call it ‘the war on terror’ – thanks Mr. Bush!)  Yes, it’s another way of saying that it
was OK because you ‘loved God in your heart’  It was called The Just War Doctrine, and they got away
with it hook, line and sinker. No matter how you slice it, all the pretty words you use to explain away
these unforgiveable crimes, it still will always smell like bullshit. Have a look on one of the pages I found,
that delicately try to make sense of all of this  so nicely called:  ‘catholic answers’:

Nowadays, war is such a household name that not too many people think of this horrible, two–faced and
treacherous deception.  How easy it is to point the finger when you are up on top of the heap, and
say:  ‘It is done’.  But we as a People are more to blame than the ‘church’ is, because it is our own
ignorance and blind faith in this ‘criminal organization’ that let it become this way – Of course, those
of us who rebelled against the idea at that time saw immediate incarceration or death without trial,
just to name a few.  It was especially the women who suffered at the hands of the ‘church’ in those days,
because they were afraid of the power that women held, and their utter defiance against such horrors.
Check out the MALLEUS MALIFICARUM (the Witch’s Hammer) if you have any questions on how many
women were murdered BY THE CHURCH(es)  right here:  http://www.malleusmaleficarum.org/mmtoc.html

I could go on and on, but I won’t.

All this to say that in today’s newspaper, here it is:  A priest giving a blessing (absolution – can you believe it?)
to a man in an army uniform, and they make a big thing of it because it is vital that the public BELIEVE
that the church is holy, and that they do not want war  Just all the gold, all the oil, all the lands and riches
in the world will suffice, thank you very much.

Then, further down on the same page, there is a picture of the pope (no caps, sorry) speaking before a huge
crowd of ‘Faithfull’s’, calling on the world for ‘a cure to poverty and hunger’.  Sorry, bud.  The only way that will
happen is if you give ‘back’ all the riches YOU have STOLEN from the poor and AMASSED IN GREED.  It is
said that if all of ‘the vatican’s gold and treasures were transformed into ESSENTIALS FOR THE NEEDY, there
would be no more hunger in this world  So who is the culprit?  "Past or present, if you stand in the shoes once
worn by murderers, thugs and thieves, then so are YOU one of them."

Amazing that all those people in front of the pope as he speaks – really believe that he is God’s power on earth.
He must have his own special telephone direct line, and he will never have to pay long distance, either.

Wow.
pope

P.S.    (front page again!) Giuseppe Molinari, ‘archbishop of L’Aquila’, says, and I quote:

"We are all a little bit angry with God because we never expected a tragedy this big."

Unfortunately, this is another common ‘brainwasher’  ‘GOD’ had NOTHING to do with this disaster!
We always say ‘God’ did this, ‘God’ did that  Really?  Think about it for a moment.  With all the
calamities we suffer on Earth, if ‘God’ was REALLY responsible for all that, ‘He’ wouldn’t be much to
brag about.  No.  ‘He’ is not to blame.  ‘He’ created the LOVE that we have for one another, not our WARS.
‘He’ also created the tree, slowly dying, between two huge expressways in a large city, that people
throw garbage at every day
