As America’s mines, mills, oilfields, and farms become more ‘high
tech’ they will have difficulty with personnel. More than 20% of American
workers cannot understand the instructions written in a medical prescription. A
further consequence of the skills problem is a slowdown in growth of
productivity of the workforce.

The deputy chief of Russia’s general staff suggested the arrival of the McFaul and other U.S. and NATO ships would increase tensions: Russia shares the sea with NATO members Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria as well as Georgia and Ukraine, whose pro–Western presidents are leading drives for NATO

‘The more global perspective for Brzezinski is a combination of
morality and geopolitics – strange bedfellows for sure. Moral because
Georgia ‘gained its independence only recently’ and ‘deserves
international support’. Of course, as is usual with the tricky
combination of morality and oil [vis a vis Iraq and Afghanistan and
Pakistan et al] is that ‘An independent Georgia is critical to the
international flow of oil’. As always with American rhetoric,
Brzezinski conflates morality with oil resources, a quite unnatural
alliance of ideas, both for consumption by the supposedly ignorant
masses at home’.
NOTE: Zbigniew Brzezinski is chief foreign policy advisor to Barack
Obama.
In terms of his foreign policy
inclinations Biden is a dedicated ‘liberal interventionist’, which should cause pause
among those hoping that an Obama presidency might usher in a dramatically different foreign policy
paradigm; Biden is not one to reject American militarism, only to cloak it in a veneer of
multilateral cooperation.
